Wherethe Chemistry Happens

TheContinuous Improvement Leader is as a key member of the Global Mobile EmissionsCatalysts Leadership Team that drives a sustainable, long term culture ofcontinuous improvement based on Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles andmethodology. You will ensure adequate and consistent deployment of BASF scontinuous improvement process to improve the problem-solving capabilities ofbusiness unit employees and to deliver outcomes that eliminate waste, improvesafety and compliance, reduce variation, create value for customers and enableprofitable growth. Also, you will be a part of a larger community of peoplethat are practicing and developing a state-of-the-art continuous improvementpractice.

TheContinuous Improvement (CI) Leader Mobile Emissions Catalysts collaborates withthe CC Global CI Director (CCT/X) to define and deploy the Catalysts DivisionContinuous Improvement Lean Six Sigma (LSS) culture globally within the GBU.The CI Leader Environmental Catalysts must work closely with GBU Leaders (SeniorVice President, Vice Presidents and Site Leaders) to create stretch targets forCI within G-CCE . The CI Leader leads the GBU community of site ContinuousImprovement Leaders (~10 people). The CI Leader is also an active member of theCatalyst Division Continuous Improvement community. The CI Leader also leads complex improvementprojects that have significant impact on the business

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formulafor Success

Capitalizingon your Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience achievements andyour impactful leadership skills, while leveraging your strength in thedeployment of Continuous Improvement tools e.g. Lean Six Sigma Green BeltCertification or higher, you will

  • Develop transparency on Operational Excellenceand identify and prioritize future opportunities Effectively negotiate with GBUleadership and influence the execution of CI stretch targets
  • Impartyour experience in building high performing teams by developing CI leadersacross all CCE and ensure the CI culture thrives enterprise wide
  • Develop and champion continuous improvementprocesses that aligns and prioritizes improvement projects linked to businessstrategy and business planning at BU, corporate and site levels. Developand maintain a suite of CI projects according to BU and site levelprioritization and strategy. Execute process to monitor progress, validatefinancial results, and refresh portfolio and priorities of CI projects in theBU. Works to coordinate and align continuous improvement efforts with OperatingDivision as appropriate.
  • Define, prepare, lead and document complex improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methods and tools at manufacturing and business sites that deliver benefits > $250k. Lead multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinate the execution and tracking of autonomous improvement activities at various sites in the BU.
  • Establish appropriate education and training levels of the BU employee population, including supervisors and management on the fundamentals of LSS and BASF s CI process. Trains and coaches in the details of LSS and the successful execution of CI process. In collaboration, with CC CI Director, oversee Belt certification process in the BU.
  • Providing input to BU organization with regards to analyzing data and deriving/validating conclusions thereof. Champion the use of (new/advanced) data to improve speed and quality of decision making at leadership team level.
  • Document and report the status of active and closed projects and achieved outcomes. Also, document and report training and certification KPI s and program metrics.
  • Deliver replication of projects in other parts of the company. Actively promotes L6S via presentations to groups, newsletter articles and participation in workshop and conferences (internal and external).
